2026 Annual Letter – Coral Cove Civic Association

As we begin 2026, it’s a good moment to reflect on a productive 2025 — and one mercifully free of hurricanes. That alone feels like a win.
Over the past year, we’ve accomplished a great deal together. Among the highlights:

  • Painted the front walls and curbs
  • Added new lighting to the front entry wall
  • Painted the park posts
  • Installed a new storage shed in the park
  • Added solar-powered security cameras
  • Completed landscaping improvements to the front island and the island in front of the park

The Association continues to be managed by a dedicated and generous group of volunteer board members and committee participants who oversee day-to-day and long-term operations on behalf of all residents. While Coral Cove is a small neighborhood (182 homes) with no deed restrictions, we share valuable common assets that require care, protection, and insurance. What makes this community special is how deeply we care about our neighbors and our shared spaces.

Throughout the year, the Board of Directors has focused on maintaining and improving those assets. Landscaping, tree trimming, installation of café and solar lighting, and park upkeep are just a few of the efforts underway. Your annual dues support these initiatives and much more, including:

To protect one of our most valuable shared assets, the boat ramp and waterfront facilities, the Boating Committee has worked diligently to implement documentation requirements for vessels and trailers. All boaters must display valid stickers on both their boat and trailer.

Looking ahead, repairing the degradation of the boat ramp and seawall remains one of the Board’s most significant projects under consideration. In addition, rising liability insurance costs for the park have required careful financial planning.

To address these needs, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to increase annual dues. This decision was not made lightly. We carefully weighed the financial impact on our community, especially given the ongoing effects of inflation. Even with the increase, our dues remain low relative to our location and the amenities we maintain. It will still take several years to adequately fund the necessary repairs or potential replacement of the seawall.

As in prior years, dues are structured as follows:

    • Homeowners: $225 annual dues + $155 boating access
    • Annual tenants: $275 annual dues + $175 boating access

Dues can be mailed in or paid online at CoralCoveSarasota.com. When you log in as the account owner, you can use a credit card to make a one-time payment or set your membership to auto-renew. If you don’t recall your password, this link shows how it can be reset in less than a minute – Password Reset How To

We have incorporated the $.30 + 2.9% into the online dues cost when paying online. As a reference point, the rounded price adds $7 to the $200 membership when renewing online. If paying by check, there are no additional charges. The attached invoice has all the information on paying by check, but if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Annual tenants, who are often more transient, do not always have the same long-term investment in neighborhood assets as homeowners, which is reflected in the rate structure.

We currently have openings on the Board of Directors. If you’re interested in serving, please contact any board member — text or email is usually the best way to reach us.

Finally, please mark your calendars: the Annual Meeting will be held on February 1, 2026. Additional details will be shared via email in advance of the meeting.

We wish you and your families a happy, healthy, and peaceful start to the New Year.
